Public Transport Interchange and Commuter Car Park Program (Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation)

The aim of the project was to assess public transport interchange operations as well as provide a substantial increase in commuter car parking spaces to serve 30 rail stations within the Greater Sydney Region. The upgraded transport interchange facilities and new parking spaces were being developed to promote better access and increased use of the CityRail network. As part of the project, there was an assessment of bus transport, general traffic, bicycle and pedestrian movements, parking and access of the subject sites. Study tasks included:

• Site inspections of identified rail station sites and surrounding transport interchanges
• Assessment of existing public transport and traffic conditions at the identified rail station sites
• Identifying any impacts during construction and operation
• Identifying any further traffic assessment investigations required for Stage 2 of the project – planning approval and later design and construction
• Determination of statutory requirements that may affect each site
• Identifying any alternative sites for further consideration
• Reporting and formal presentation to client

Makati (APMC) Retail Precincts Parking Study (Ayala Property Management Corporation)

This study was carried out for Ayala Corporation who own the major retail precinct holdings in the Makati CBD area of Metro Manila. The study objectives were to assess existing parking supply and demand at 20 car park sites, develop parking strategies to improve parking and traffic flows on the surrounding road networks, research and develop suitable parking controls (world's 'best practice') for the subject car parks, prepare a 'terms of reference' document for tender, and tender assessment. Study tasks included:

• Overall study management
• Assessment of existing parking, access and road network approach conditions for all car park sites
• Consultation with car park operators
• Projecting future parking demand based on land use development in the study area
• Research world's 'best practice' for multi-level car park operations
• Develop parking controls and way-finding systems (internal to car park and external on road network)
• Prepare a 'terms of reference' document for tendering and advise client on potential suppliers / contractors

Wagga CBD Parking Study (City of Wagga Wagga)
This study for a Local Government Area in rural western NSW involved existing parking supply and demand assessment, parking and access strategy development, cost estimates and development of an action plan. Study tasks included:

• Overall study management
• Assessing existing parking and access conditions with field visits
• Parking surveys
• Undertaking community consultation via public meetings and survey questionnaires
• Reviewing existing Council parking policies
• Developing long-term parking strategies and policies for the study area
• Several presentations to the client were undertaken at public forums where the local community and media attended
